We talk about the difficulty in thinking ideas through without writing them down and the pressure for ideas to eventually be written. Writing a journal alongside writing a novel. Getting the voice right before anything else and the vast gulf between dialogue on the page and in the real world – and the different purposes dialogue is serving in each.
